InterWrite™
Continues Global Expansion with Another Multi-Million Dollar Contract
for Interactive Whiteboards
in Mexico
Second major contract awarded based on InterWrite’s success in primary
schools in Mexico
COLUMBIA, Md. – December 11, 2006 - GTCO CalComp, Inc., manufacturer of
the InterWrite Interactive Classroom products, announces today that it
has been awarded another major multi-million dollar contract to supply
interactive whiteboards to Mexico. The contract for over 11,700
InterWrite SchoolBoards will support the Mexican government’s
“Secundarias Project”, which provides secondary schools in the country
with the equipment required to access digital resources for teaching and
learning. By February 2007, there will be over 36,000 InterWrite
SchoolBoards installed and operating in primary and secondary schools
across Mexico.
The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Education, is building a
strong foundation for its students by providing a leading-edge learning
environment in classrooms throughout the country. The InterWrite
SchoolBoard is a primary interactive instructional tool that will be
integrated with various classroom technology products including
computers, projectors and printers. Working with its partner,
Proeducación, and the Mexican government, InterWrite will continue to
provide its interactive whiteboards, training and ongoing support to
schools and teachers throughout Mexico.
“We continue to have a strong relationship and are very well respected
in Mexico based on our work this past year installing and supporting
thousands of InterWrite SchoolBoards,” said Frank Augustino, vice
president of business development and international sales at GTCO
CalComp. “Teachers and students in primary schools across Mexico have
had a wonderful year using our interactive products and we are excited
that we have been chosen to supply even more interactive whiteboards to
the secondary schools. We look forward to many years of working with our
partners and the Mexican government to ensure the overall success of the
Enciclomedia Project, Secundarias Project and any other exciting
opportunities and programs to be developed by the new administration.”
